Drum stick leads to friendship between Bellamy Brothers fan and musician

This group of Bellamy Brothers fans gathered for a selfie... A drum stick tossed into the crowd at a Bellamy Brothers concert a few years ago has led to a friendship between a local woman and a member of the band.  “I’ve been a Bellamy Brothers fan since I was five years old,” says Sherri Kavalier of Brandon. In 2010, Kavalier attended the Bellamy Brothers concert at the Linn County Fair.

Country Fest fills fairgrounds with music; organizers begin planning for 2016

Tim and Sandra Rathe of Urbana have danced to country music in many places throughout the years of their marriage, but never on a race track, says Sandra. The couple was the first of many to turn the dirt of the Benton County Speedway into a dance floor during the Benton County Country Fest. First, they danced to music played and sung by the Nashbillies, a local band featuring Keith Lindsey on drums.

Middle School Fine Arts Night Concert, Monday, May 18

The Middle School Fine Arts Night Concert will be Monday, May 18 at 7:00 in the middle school gymnasium.  Each of the middle school choirs and bands will be performing under the direction of Mrs. Jodi Bierschenk and Mrs. Lois Martin with assistant director, Ms. Michala Martin and accompanist Mrs. April Ahrenholz.   The public is cordially invited to attend.
