Vinton's Big Read Kick-Off Party September 4

Join us as we kick off Vinton’s Big Read! Learn all about the free community programming for adults! Todd Frank will be playing live music, and we will be serving refreshments.Pick up your free copy of 'Bewilderment' by Richard Powers, along with a calendar full of free community programming based on themes in the book!This event is a collaboration between the Vinton Public Library, Vinton Guild of Fine Arts, Vinton Palace Theatre and Benton County Conservation.

Safety Day for 3rd through 6th Grade September 20

A safety day for any Benton County students in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade is being planned for Saturday, September. 20. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Vinton. The Benton County Extension Service in conjunction with Progressive Agriculture, Benton County Farm Bureau and Vinton-Shellsburg FFA will provide workshops for the children.

CENTER POINT HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO HOST CAR SHOW SEPTEMBER 14

The Center Point Historical Society will hold a "Show and Shine," car show. From 2 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025 you can see the cars, trucks and motorcycles at the Center Point Historical Society Depot Museum parking lot located at 700 E. Washington St. in Center Point. Cars, trucks and motorcycles welcome. The Depot Museum and Strait Log Cabin will also be open.

Class of 1960 to reunite Saturday, September 20, 2025

This is a reminder that the Vinton Class of 1960 will hold their class reunion at Pizza Ranch in downtown Vinton.
