The word revenant means “one who is restored or comes back.” Indeed, the Palace returns to its regular schedule with “Revenant,” running Friday, February 5 through Thursday, February 11 at 7 pm, and Monday, February 8 at 2 pm. While trekking the unexplored American wilderness, pioneer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear, betrayed and literally buried alive by members of his own hunting team.

Awakening to 'The Force:' A 'Star War's newbie tries to explain Episode VII

“Your names are safe.” I spent the night after Christmas at the late showing of “Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens,” with my three youngest children, Leah, Lydia and Abigail. It was the first time I had seen a Star Wars movie, ever. I was 12 when the first Star Wars Movie (Which George Lucas and his producers would soon re-name “New Hope, Episode IV”) came out in 1977.

In Depth: 'The Force Awakens' to play at Palace for another week

You’re in luck, Palace Patrons, if you missed our opening “Star Wars” weekend.  We’re holding “The Force Awakens” for a second week. Tickets completely sold out Sunday night, and we had very few seats remaining for the Friday and Saturday night shows.  Reserve your seats in advance at the box office or at www.

In Depth: 'Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip'

“…it's pure mayhem and it's entirely silly.” ~Sheila O’Malley, rogerebert.com “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip” careens into the Palace on Friday, January 14, playing every night at 7 pm, and Monday at 2 pm. Rated PG for some mild rude humor (favored by kids and dads!) and running 86 minutes, number four in the animated comedy chipmunk series promises a rockin’ good time for the whole family.

Rocky returns to Palace as boxing coach in 'Creed'

One need not be proficient in “Rocky” lore to appreciate “Creed,” but for those who have followed the exploits of Sylvester Stallone’s Philadelphia boxer, Ryan Coogler’s latest film pays unexpectedly rich emotional dividends. “Creed” is so reminiscent of the 1976 film that introduced us to Rocky Balboa that I sense newcomers will fall for “Creed”’s characters the way viewers fell for “Rocky”’s 40 years ago.
