12 days until the “Mary Ingalls – Her Journey” Pageant debuts for the 2nd Season on the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School auditorium stage beginning Friday July 31, 2015 The cast and crew are working hard to make this 2nd Season as enjoyable and moving as the premiere season.  The IBSSS Mary Ingalls Society is preparing to show off the Founders Room and Museum for visitors.

Only 24 days till opening night of “Mary Ingalls – Her Journey” at the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School. There is lots of activity – lines to learn, costumes to try on, props to find, furniture to move, pictures to take and promotion to prepare.  All this energy expended to bring you the story of Mary Ingalls’ time at the Iowa College for the Blind.

'Mary Ingalls' play returns to IBSSS

“Mary Ingalls – Her Journey” returns to the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School for its 2nd Season. Once again the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School auditorium will provide the setting for the Pageant depicting Mary Ingalls and her life as a student at the school. It provides a unique opportunity to be surrounded by history and watch it at the same time.

Act 1 announces 'Oliver' cast; show to open September

Steve Arnold, the director of the Act 1 production of Oliver, has announced the cast. The musical, based on the Charles Dickens novel, Oliver Twist, will open on the Palace stage Sept. 11. It was previously presented by ACT I in 1997 as the opening fundraiser to acquire the Palace Theatre. ACT I will hold auditions for the musical Oliver

ACT I of Benton County announces auditions for the classic musical Oliver! by Lionel Bart, to be presented at the Palace Theatre in Vinton September 11 – 20, 2015. Auditions will be held Sunday, June 28 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm and Monday, June 29 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm at the ACT I Studio, located at 906 D Avenue, Vinton. Call-backs will be held as needed on Tuesday, June 30.

Castle Ridge to perform at Farmers Mercantile Hall, July 11

Castle Ridge will be performing Bluegrass, Old-time Country and Swing music at Farmers Mercantile Hall in Garrison, Ia. Saturday, July 11th, 2015 from 7:00 - 9:30pm.  Admission $7 (children under 14 free). Refreshments will be provided by Garrison Library.  Farmers Mercantile Hall is located at 100 West Main St. in Garrison.  Castle Ridge played here last fall as one of the acoustic performers of the Sound Hole (aka Idiot Jam) and were very well received.
