Mary Lee (Kenney) Vogt

Mary Lee (Kenney) Vogt, 83, died Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at her son’s home in rural Garrison.A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a future date.Mary was born in Vinton, the daughter of Lewis and Leta Mae (Rogers) Kenney on May 16, 1942.  She graduated from Lincoln High School in Vinton with the class of 1960.Mary worked for the United States Postal Service most of her career.

Rose Marie Swails

Rose Marie Swails and lifelong resident of Coralville, IA, peacefully passed away August 14th, 2025, at home with her family at 95 years of age.A funeral service will be held Friday August 22, 2025, at 12 PM at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville, Iowa where her family will greet friends prior to the service from 11 AM until 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her family to be distributed to organizations that were important to her.

Marc David Mahood

Marc David Mahood, 23, of La Porte City, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his home on Friday, August 15, 2025, after a 3 ½ year hard fought battle with brain cancer. He was born on January 28, 2002, in Waterloo, the son of Marc K. Mahood and April McClain. Marc was a 2020 graduate of Union Community Schools in La Porte City, where he was active in football, soccer, and basketball.

Marvin Wayne Andrews

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Marvin Wayne Andrews, age 80, of rural Vinton, Iowa. Marvin died on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Prairie Creek Church (2745 55th StreetHwy 150) Vinton.

Alyce Marie Sindt

Alyce Marie Sindt, 93, formerly of Belle Plaine, IA passed away August 12, 2025 at Compass Memorial Healthcare, Marengo, IA.Alyce was born March 27, 1932 to John and Olive (Fowler) Thede in Tama County, IA. She attended country school and graduated from Hartwick High School. Alyce was married and widowed twice; through these unions she was blessed with seven children.

Jeffery William Parson

Jeffery William Parson, age 39, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 in Iowa City.Private family graveside services with military rites will be held at the Koszta Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family.Jeffery was born on June 16, 1986 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Lisa (Parson) Schmuecker and stepfather Bill Schmuecker  He graduated from Benton Community High School with the class of 1994.

James (Jim) Russell, 82, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale. Visitation with Jim’s family will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2025 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines. Burial with military honors will take place 11 a.

Rev. Allen C. Craft

Rev. Allen C. Craft, 69, of La Porte City, died on Friday, August 8, 2025, in La Porte City.He was born on September 19, 1955, in Waterloo, the son of Duane and Joann (Wilt) Craft. He graduated from La Porte City High School in 1974. He attended Iowa State University and later completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Dubuque in 2012.

Betty Prusha

Betty Prusha, 91 passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Nation Cottage, Western Home Community in Cedar Falls.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 18, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with the Rev. Michael McAndrew as celebrant.  Interment will be held at National Cemetery in Vining. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.

Lonnie James Kent

Lonnie James Kent, 68, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away August 11, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a stroke. Lonnie was born June 22, 1957, to Laverne and Elaine (Shoemaker) Kent in Belle Plaine, IA. Graduating from Belle Plaine High School, class of 1975. Lonnie drove truck for Farmer’s 4 County Co-op, more recently Heartland Co-op, until retirement in 2018.
