Last Call for VPRD Sandpit Volleyball League Registrations
Starting in mid-July, VPRD will begin its NEW Sandpit Volleyball League! There will be a coed league that will play on Sunday late afternoons / early evenings and a women's league that will play Wednesday nights. If you are interested in forming a team, please have your registration form turned into us by Thursday, July 5th. League play will tentatively begin the week of July 15th at the Riverside Park sandpit courts.

No more than a car-length separated Jeff Aikey and Ray Guss Jr. for much of the 40-lapper, but that’s all Aikey needed when the checkers waved in the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models at Independence Motor Speedway.
Aikey, who took charge two laps following a lap 10 restart, held off Guss in thrilling fashion to score his first series win of the season and his second straight at Independence.

Hogan Memorial takes place July 8; potential payoff of $3,500
The winner of the Hogan Memorial can more than double their money with a long run at the front of the IMCA Modified feature field this Sunday, July 8 at Benton County Speedway.
The headline event pays a minimum of $1,250 to win and another $50 for each of the 40 laps led, plus $250 to the leader at midway.
That makes for a potential payoff of $3,500.

The Little Vikes Volleyball Camp for kids going into 3rd-6th grade will take place
July 30, and Aug. 1, from 8am-10am. Cost is $30; please register by July 11th to receive a t-shirt.
Vinton drivers Dvorak, Stander win Mid-Season features in Independence
INDEPENDENCE – A great field of 113 race teams filled the pits for Budweiser Mid-Season Championships at Independence Motor Speedway. A pair of brothers, while another pair of drivers from Vinton, all claimed titles during the special event.
Brothers and defending IMCA Modified and IMCA Stock Car champions Adam Johnson and Sean Johnson last won on the same night during Season Championship action last season.
