Vikettes down five, rally to win 11-10, split with W. Dubuque

After losing their first game against Western Dubuque, 2-1 after a seventh inning Bobcat run broke a 1-1 tie, the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikettes got off to a horrible start in Game 2, falling behind 5-0 by the second inning.

Independence Motor Speedway cancels June 6 special

Due to wet track and pit area conditions, the Thursday, June 6, Entry Level Extravaganza at Independence Motor Speedway has been canceled. Although the special event for IMCA SportMods, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts will not be rescheduled, the increased purse planned for that event will be offered during an upcoming weekly program at the speedway.

VSHS Softball: Vikettes improve to 6-2

Sophomore Brea Burroughs has pitched 10 consecutive shut-out innings and senior pitcher Maddie Cornwell has struck out 27 batters in 29 innings to help lead the Vinton-Shellsburg softball team to a 6-2 record.
