Donna Guerrero, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Heritage Specialty Care, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020, followed by a Funeral Service at 4 p.m. Due to the Derecho storm damage, services will take place at Van Steenhuyse Russell Funeral Home, Vinton. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion, is caring for Donna and her family.

Tom (Van Steenhuyse) Stonehouse

Tom (Van Steenhuyse) Stonehouse, 70, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at his home in Palm Springs, CA, following a short and courageous battle with leukemia.Private family services will be held to honor and celebrate Tom’s life.Thomas Raphael Van Steenhuyse was born June 11, 1950 in Vinton, the son of Ray and Helen (Walsh) Van Steenhuyse. Tom graduated with the Vinton class of 1968, the University of Iowa and Drake University where he earned a law degree.

Maude Marie Hilleshiem

Maude Marie Hilleshiem, 89, passed away peacefully at her home of natural causes Wednesday, August 19, 2020.Private graveside services at Evergreen Cemetery will be held at a later date.Maude was born December 27, 1930 in Vinton, the daughter of Oscar and Hester Stone Anderson.  She grew up and attended school in Vinton, graduating with the class of 1950.

Mary Janette Wilson

Mary Janette Wilson, 93, died Friday, August 14, 2020 at St. Luke's Unity Point Hospital following a sudden illness.     Private Family Graveside Services will be held at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Atkins     Mary was born June 13, 1927 at High View Farm near Atkins to Walter and Enid (Bryner) Krug and graduated from the Atkins High School in 1944.

George Elvan Little

George Elvan Little, 94, died peacefully Sunday, July 26, 2020, in Sherman, TX. George was born August 26, 1925, in Madison, WI to Ralph C. and Ruth (Moubry) Little. He was the third of eight children. In 1927, the family moved back to Palo, IA. He was a long-time resident of Atkins, Newhall, and Cedar Rapids. On December 12, 1945, George married LaVonne Lint.

Delores "Dee" Phillippe

Delores "Dee" Phillippe, 73, of Belle Plaine, passed away in her home under the care of Essence of Life Hospice on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020.A public graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Eternal Love, with Certified Celebrant Jim Parton officiating.As mandated by proclamation, social distancing must be practiced.

Richard Lee Lindsey

Richard Lee Lindsey, 83, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 of natural causes.A celebration of Richard’s life with military rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Oak Grove Church with Pastor Matt Magee officiating. Military rites will be performed at the church by the Marine Military Funeral Honors and the George G. Luckey American Legion Post.

Lenore Kathryn (Wilhelmi) Pohlman

Lenore Kathryn (Wilhelmi) Pohlman, 93, died Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.Private family funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with Rev. B. Andrew Wright officiating.  Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery.  A memorial fund has been established.

Alfred R. Lee

Alfred R. Lee, 89, of Brandon, IA formerly of Otterville, IA died on Sunday August 2, 2020 at his home in Brandon, IA.Al was born on July 7, 1931 in Elk City, Kansas the son of Rueben M. and Anna L. (James) Lee. He attended the Elk City Schools and went into the United States Army in 1948. He served with pride and was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded during the Korean War.

Perry Duane Rick

Perry Duane Rick, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 3, 2020 at his home in Hiawatha.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton with Rev. Jessica Crane-Munoz officiating.  The family will greet friends following the memorial service, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, also at the funeral home.
