Decie Rose Mason

Decie Rose Mason, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 27. 2020 after living a full and busy life.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th) in Vinton with Rev. Brian Reeves officiating.  Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.

Mahaila Margaret Clark Cruzen

Mahaila Margaret Clark Cruzen, 13, of Keystone, IA, passed away suddenly September 13, 2020 from an ATV accident in Keystone, IA.Mahaila was born February, 7, 2007 in Minneapolis, MN to Michelle Cruzen and Cory Clark. She attended Long Prairie Elementary in Long Prairie, MN where she played soccer and was in Girl Scouts. Mahaila moved with her family to Keystone about 4 years ago, becoming a Benton Bobcat and was attending Benton Community School as an 8th grader this year.

Larry Vernon Walker

Larry Vernon Walker, 84, passed away on Larry Vernon Walker, 84, passed away on Saturday, September 26. 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids.A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date.Larry was born on April 6, 1936, the son of Paul and Rhoda (De Vault) Walker in Rhodes, Iowa.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in Vinton with the class of 1954.

Charles "Chuck" Oliver Lund

Charles "Chuck" Oliver Lund died on Sept. 23, 2020, at MercyOne Hospital in Waterloo. He was born Dec. 21, 1926, in Audubon County, Iowa, to Chris and Minnie (Rasmussen) Lund. He married Ruth B. Utesch on Feb. 6, 1948; she preceded him in death in 2011. Charles worked at John Deere Tractor Works for 34 years, retiring in 1985.He is survived by his children, Margie Smith of Independence, Bob (Peggy) of La Porte City, Tom (Jennifer) of Brandon, Karen (Jerry) Lesh of Marion and Janet (Dave) Harwood of Grimes; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred of Loveland, Colo.

Alan John Hagen

Alan John Hagen, age 85 of Waverly died September 21, 2020. He was born September 8, 1935 to Leonore Constance Hagen and Grant Marcus Hagen of Waterville, Iowa. He attended Waterville Community School graduating in 1953. He attended Luther College in Decorah, IA. Graduating in 1957 with a B.A. in music education and later earned an M.A. in music education from UNI in Cedar Falls, IA.

James Kimmerle

James Kimmerle, 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020, at his home after a short illness. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.Survivors include his life partner, Robin Smith, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughters, Tedi Nuzzo, Jacksonville, Fla., Nikki (Jay) Kimmerle, Marion, Iowa, and Karleen (Tadd) Jessop, Vinton, Iowa; sons, James (Carrie) Kimmerle, Justin, Texas, Laurence Burgin, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Eddie Burgin, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; along with 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister and three brothers.

Carol Ann Brunssen

Carol Ann Brunssen was called home to the place that Jesus prepared for her on Friday, September 25, 2020.     Visitation will be held from 4-7 Monday, September 28, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E 6th St) in Vinton.     Carol was born on January 31, 1946, in Marengo, Iowa the daughter of Gilbert and Norma (Shultz) Wardenburg.

Dale K. Ohde

Dale K. Ohde, 76, passed away September 17, 2020, in his home in Marion, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Dale is survived by his daughters, Jade Ohde, Shannon Ford, and Stephanie Kupferman; his granddaughters, Sydney Ford, Lainey Ford and Charley Agranoff; his nephews Rob (Julie) Heise, Richard (Chris) Heise and Ryan (Erica) Heise; his niece Heather Heise; and numerous cousins and friends whom he greatly cherished.

Lawrence W. Hess

Lawrence W. Hess, 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22. 2020 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, September 28, 2020 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton with Rev. Brian Channel officiating.  Masks should be worn and social distancing will be practiced at the church.

Ronald Dale Clemann

Ronald Dale “goat or billy goat” Clemann, age 68, passed away suddenly Monday, September 7, 2020 at University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A celebration of life will be held at the Keystone Turner Hall on September 25th, 2020 from 5pm to 8pm.  Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Ron was born on May 8, 1952, the son of Wayne and Evelyn (Coleman) Clemann.
