Dear Santa Program coming to Vinton
Vinton Unlimited is partnering with the Dear Santa Program to provide essentials for families in need this Christmas season.
You will find two flyers along in a PDF format that you can download and hang up or pass along. The first flyer is geared toward those who may need a little extra help this Winter to provide for their family.
Your kids are invited to write a letter to Santa and drop it off during the Holiday Open House THIS WEEKEND on November 20th.

Tonight, November 15th, Vinton Unlimited is partnering with SCORE to do an introduction about Starting Your Own Business in Vinton, Iowa. This short 2.5 hour seminar will cover the basic things you need to think about when contemplating whether to start a business and what steps you should take to make your dream become reality. The FREE seminar is open to anyone from high school to retirement age.
School board acts on student discipline issue, hears update on Alternative HS
The Vinton-Shellsburg School Board was called to order at 6:30 with five members present (Wiley, Bird, Gates, Rickels and Bartz). Hazen arrived at 6:41 and Wiley left at 8:40. The board moved into closed session as allowed to discuss a student discipline issue. After the board met, they moved back into open session.

In case it snows AGAIN this winter...
We had a little scare last week with our first measurable snow of the season. Fortunately it did not impact travel or create a late start.
But, the winter season is upon us and we're bound to have storms that interfere with school. Please be sure to discuss with your students what they are to do if we have a late start or early out.
