Zelda K. Powers

Zelda K. Powers, 77, of Quasqueton, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at her home in Quasqueton.Zelda was born July 7, 1944, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of George J. and Iris I. (Kress) Scott. Her family moved throughout eastern Iowa but always called Quasqueton home. She graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1962. She married Harold E.

Bobby Lee Peacock

Bobby Lee Peacock, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022. Per his wishes, there will be no services or visitation for the public. Private graveside service for immediate family only will be held at a later date in Norway Cemetery in Norway, Iowa.Bobby was born June 16, 1935, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Leonard and Audrey (Weichman) Peacock.

Curtis “Bill” Foreman

Curtis “Bill” Foreman, 62, of Palo, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5- 7 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022, with a Masonic service beginning at 7 p.m. at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Celebration of Life will continue from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the El Kahir Shrine, 905 Tower Terrace Road, Hiawatha, Iowa.

Gary Laverne Kelly

Gary Laverne Kelly, 65 of Van Horne, died Monday, January 10, 2022 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital following a severe battle with Covid-19. A Celebration of Life will take place at 10 a.m., Friday at Teahen Funeral Home by Penny Ackerman.  Burial: 11:15 a.m. Friday at Quasqueton Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.

Gladys Marie Spinler

Gladys Marie Spinler, 93, of Chelsea, IA passed away, January 9, 2022 at Brooklyn Community Estates, Brooklyn, IA.Gladys was born February 8, 1928 to Joseph and Helen (Chesick) Kasal in Rural Chelsea. She attended country school till 8th grade and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1945. On February 12, 1951, Gladys married Lawrence Spinler on the Spinler family farm in rural Chelsea.

Richard Gene Geltz Sr.

Richard Gene Geltz Sr. was born December 6, 1936, to Dorothy and Glen. He left this earthly life on January 6, 2022, to join family and friends in heaven. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.Dick graduated from Brandon High School in 1954, then attended Coe College. He was an avid sports fan, playing baseball in his younger years and became an avid golfer as an adult.

Cathi Calderwood

CATHI CALDERWOOD Iowa City Cathi Calderwood passed away Jan. 1, 2022, in Iowa City, Iowa, of a short fight with pancreatic cancer. She was 67 years old. Cathi was born Nov. 13, 1954, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Carlos and Evelyn (Dvorak) Viall. Cathi grew up in the Belle Plaine area, graduating from Belle Plaine High in May of 1972. She met Willie the following year, while living in Cedar Rapids and working at Amana Refrigeration.

Loren Carolan

Loren Carolan, 79, of Newhall, died at his home Friday, January 7, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Newhall.  Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.  Interment will be at a later date at St. Benedict Cemetery, Decorah.

Oma Ruth Geiger Eckhart

Oma Ruth Geiger Eckhart, 92, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, January 7, 2022, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab, Vinton.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at First Christian Church, Vinton. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, rural Vinton.
