Allen L. Cress, 80, of Luzerne, Iowa, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at his home. Per his wishes, no services will be held. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Virgil Ray Marek, 73, formerly of Belle Plaine, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 in Georgia. Mr. Marek was a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and had lived in Macon for 10 years before moving to Lake Sinclair 5 years ago. He was the son of the late Albert and Anna J. Fousek Marek; and was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Marek, and a sister, Gladys Jones. Joyce Bowman

Bill Cummings, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior and beloved wife, Faye, on December 7, 2021. Bill was born April 22, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Roger Allen and Ethel Mae (Seely) Cummings. At an early age he moved with his family to Vinton. He was a 1950 graduate of Lincoln High School in Vinton.On June 3, 1951, Bill was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Faye Baldwin, at the Assembly of God Church in Vinton. Arthur Franklin Harris, age 79, Bloomington, California passed suddenly on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at his home. He was born in Iowa on June 5, 1942, to Thornton and Bernelta (Bahnsen) Harris.He graduated from Tipton High School in 1961 and joined the Navy in 1963. Art married his wife Sharon Lee (Hope) Harris of California in June of 1963. He worked for GTE which later became Verizon, retired 2002.
