Obituaries : Russell “Red” Lee Kimm

Russell "Red" Lee Kimm, 87, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away November 28, 2022 at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids.

Russell was born on November 17, 1935 to Porter and Esther (Schaffer) Kimm in Blairstown, IA. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the Walt Portwood Farm. Red retired from Midland Forge after 35 years of service.

Red is survived by his children, Kevin (Sandy) Kimm, Claudia Kimm, Tom (Lori) Kimm, Karen (Dave) Berger, and Bill Kimm; siblings, Francis, Earl and Regina; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. His companion and caregiver, Charlotte Graybill and her family, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Debra Schutterle, siblings, Dale, Dahlene, Harlan, Marion, Kenny, and Virginia; grandson, Dustin Stoddard.

Gathering of family and friends will take place 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Norway American Legion. Private family burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown, IA.
