Documentary about the Horridge House to Premiere in Vinton

 612 1st Ave– Josh & Katie Hopkins of Benton County Historical Society Paranormal Tours and Lollman Paranormal (Dan, Cory and Tia Lollman) have completed the filming of the documentary House of 1859: Haunting of the Horridge House and have set the premiere to release in Vinton on August 5, 2023. The documentary was filmed and produced by Cory Lollman.

Field of Dreams comes to the Palace Wednesday, 7:00 p.m.

The Vinton Palace Theatre will be showing the 1989 film, Field of Dreams on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.In the movie "Field of Dreams," Kevin Costner plays a struggling Iowa farmer named Ray Kinsella who hears a voice whisper the phrase "If you build it, he will come." Intrigued by the mysterious message, Ray decides to plow under his cornfield and construct a baseball field in its place, despite ridicule from his family and friends.

May 7th - “Planes, Trains and Automobiles”...And a Piano, Too, at CP Museum

The Center Point Historical Society theme this year is “Time Travel: Planes, Trains and Automobiles.” But the season opens on Sunday, May 7, with a birthday party for a piano. Warfield, the player piano, is 100 years old this year.There will be cake and, of course, piano music, provided by Vicki Harger, longtime First Christian Church organist, and by Warfield himself pumped up by his friends, old and young.

Tilford Elementary Fine Arts Nights schedule

Tilford Elementary Fine Arts Nights celebrations will begin this week. The AKA through 4th grade students have been working on their artwork and music to share with you. Mary Poppins coming to the Palace in August

ACT 1 of Benton County will be holding auditions for cast members to perform in the Broadway Musical Mary Poppins. 25-30 performers will be needed for the full cast. Auditions include singing scales, script reading and physical acting. Prepared audition materials are not needed. Auditions will be held on April 22 and 23 from 2-4:00 p.m. at the ACT 1 Centre located at 906 E Ave.

Belle Plaine performance of Park It scheduled for May 6

Belle Plaine is buckling up for the premier of, "Park It!" the play. The production will be at the Belle Plaine Longfellow Auditorium, May 6 at 2:00 pm. The intergenerational cast includes Belle Plaine students and several area adults. The comedy is set in 1965 and is based on stories that former area students and educators contributed to the book, "Park It!" The collection of humorous, but sometimes hair-raising, anecdotes covers 30 years in the drivers education car with former Belle Plaine teacher Wallace Winkie.
