Making men grin like little boys: The Evel Knievel museum

From acoustic rockabilly to dancing bluegrass, the Cobras provide a great show with their signature "gypsy" sound. We really enjoyed their last performance, their music is contagious! If the phrase "Freckleface Strawberry" sounds familiar, it's because the ACT 1 Summer Camp kids will be performing the same show that starred Taylor Berry in Vinton-Shellsburg High School spring musical. Marcy Horst, who directed the high school version, is also the Summer Camp director. Several older students are assisting Marcy.

MUNCHING, MUSIC, MOVIE AT CP FROSS PARK JULY 14

The city of Center Point’s Movies in the Park series will also feature food trucks and an old-fashioned band concert Saturday, July 14. The Vinton Community Band will be playing a free concert at 7 p.m. near the Fross Park splash pad. The Center Point Historical Society and the band have been teaming up for years for a concert outside the Depot Museum, but this year are teaming up with the city Parks/Rec department too.

Middle School Fine Arts Night will be Monday,May14 at the Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School. The art show and concert is open to the public. Come, enjoy, be our guests and celebrate our VS middle school students! The all-school art show will be set-up in the student center featuring work from each middle school student.
