Vikettes ride H-V's 23 to a big win over Williamsburg, 66-53

VINTON -- Minus their head coach, the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikettes moved to 9-1 and took over sole possession of the WaMaC West lead with a hard-fought 66-53 win over Williamsburg Tuesday at the Garrison Fieldhouse.

VINTON -- The Vinton-Shellsburg boys' basketball team rode a red-hot start into 2021 Monday night and came away with a 57-31 WaMaC West win over South Tama.

Lamont, Sweson, Ortner win titles at Maquoketa

MAQUOKETA -- Three Vinton-Shellsburg wrestlers won championships and two others medalled in a solid performance at Maquoketa's Zimmerman Invitational.Freshman 113-pounder Carter Lamont, 132-pounder Damon Swenson and 138-pounder Brady Ortner all picked up titles, while Bryce Radeke picked up a runner-up finish and 106-pounder Aldin Swanson  was third.

VSU Swim Team at Decorah Swimming Quadrangular

After three meet cancellations, the VS/CPU Stormin’ Vikings started the season on a hot streak with both a dual and invitational win.  Thursday night, after a long trip to Decorah to face some stiffer competition, the Stormin’ Vikes may no longer remain unbeaten, but have established themselves as a solid team with some exceptional swimmers.

VINTON -- Coach Brian Sheston's Vinton-Shellsburg wrestling squads split a pair of dual meets Thursday night in the Garrison Fieldhouse.The Vikes stopped Iowa City Regina, 50-28 in their first bout, but dropped a hard-fought battle to Marion, 45-34 in the finale.

Vinton Shellsburg and CPU Stormin' Vikings win at Raider invitational

The Vinton Shellsburg and CPU Stormin’ Vikings continued their strong start to the season on their second trip to Williamsburg.  Having won a dual with the Raiders 90-76 on Thursday, the team followed up with a strong win at the Raider invitational featuring host Williamsburg, Oskaloosa, and Centerville.

VS Bowlers VS. Waverly-Shellrock

Both VS Bowling teams were victors in the match against Waverly Shellrock on Tuesday. These kids are working very hard and pushing themselves daily.  I love to see how they interact and work together to hep those who need a hand.
