I wanted to let you know about some details regarding our second bus. We have secured a second bus for the trip on Tuesday, March 5th to watch the boys play in Des Moines.

With the snow on the way and Vinton scheduled to play a game in Marion, it brought up a memory from high school that seemed fitting. I can remember being on the bus going to the game that day and already seeing snow starting to drift.

Don't let the six losses fool you: Harlan is a very good high school basketball team with a very rich history. Although the Cyclones are seeded eighth, two of their losses came by a combined five points to Atlantic, which was ranked second -- right behind Vinton-Shellsburg -- for most of the year.

The Vinton-Shellsburg boy's basketball team is headed to the State Tournament in Des Moines and we are offering a way to get you there as well! The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting signups for a seat on a chartered bus headed to Des Moines to watch the boys play on Tuesday, March 5th.

The Vinton-Shellsburg boys’ basketball team will play in the state tournament starting on Tuesday, March 5 at 3:45.  The school district will have a three hour early out on Tuesday so students and families can attend the game.
