 William "Billy" Reasor, 41, passed away suddenly Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, due to complications of diabetes. He was a resident of Shellsburg for many years. Billy was born Sept. 29, 1977, to William and Leona Reasor in Cedar Rapids. He is survived by his sister, Julie Harmon of Atkins, (formerly Shellsburg); nieces, Jessica Harmon of Shellsburg and Jennifer Harmon of Newhall, along with her twin sons, Jayden and Jorden Harmon; and his nephew, Jared McNeal of Shellsburg.

Rita Kay McCartney, 76, of Center Point, Iowa, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home. Burial: Rogers Grove Cemetery, Ely.  Rita is survived by her daughter, Connie (Jim "Tiny") Takes of Center Point; a son, Brian of Marion; grandchildren, Zach (Katrina), Sydney, Brody and Brogan; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Nevaeh; three brothers, Jerry (Shirley) McAtee of Solon, Larry ( Marge) McAtee of Lisbon, and Duane (Anna) McAtee of Ely; brother-in-law, Ed Osborn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peter R. Beau, 71, of South Wayne, WI and formerly of Dubuque, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Rd., Dubuque. Sharing of memories will take place from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Jerry “Jake” Gerard, 71, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away on Fri. Feb. 1, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA. Memorial service is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, IA. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Koszta Cemetery, Koszta, IA at a later date.

BLAIRSTOWN:  Florence Lisette Meyer, 101, died January 28, 2019 at the Vinton Lutheran Home.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown with Rev. Jeff Schanbacher officiating.  Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown.  Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM, Friday, February 1, 2019 also at the church.

William R. “Billy” Cummings, 44, died Monday, December 24, 2018, of natural causes.  Memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home, Vinton. William Robert Cummings was born February, 5, 1974 in Vinton, the son of William Craig and Elaine Rhinehart Cummings.

              Keith Delmar Rick was born November 8, 1935 on the Paul Rick Farm Northeast of Urbana to Paul and Norma (Allbones) Rick.  He graduated from Urbana High School with the class of 1955.  He was united in marriage to Stella Saddoris on July 11, 1955 on his parents’ farm.

James Louis Anderson passed from this life on Friday January 25, 2019 due to a stroke. Jim was born June 23rd, 1933 on the family farm four miles southwest of Vinton, the youngest of ten children of William Carl and Cora Barta Anderson. He attended country school at Jackson #7 through the sixth grade and then the Vinton public schools, graduating from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1951.

          Edna Jeanette Risdal Stien, 94, met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 24, 2019.  She passed away peacefully at Keystone Nursing & Care Center in Keystone IA. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 30,2019, at St John Lutheran Church in Newhall.  Interment will be after the service at St John Lutheran Cemetery near Newhall.
