Craig “Skitz” Douglas Kimm

Craig “Skitz” Douglas Kimm passed peacefully from the arms of his loving family into the arms of his loving mother on Saturday, March 7, 2020.  He was 60 years old. Through all of his health issues he never complained or asked “why me” because he was strong in faith and felt safe with Jesus. He cherished his family, wife Jeanette (Dunning) Kimm; sons Andrew Kimm and Reece (Jessica Niebes) Kimm; father Douglas (Mardene) Kimm, sisters Cindy (Jim) Stoddard, Cheryl (Jeff) Housman, and brother Brian “Opie” (Cindy) Kimm; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Terry L. Dunham

Terry L. Dunham, age 76, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at his home in Urbana.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton with Rev. Brian Channel officiating.  Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, near Masonville.  Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lee Edward Smith Jr.

Lee Edward Smith Jr., 82, passed away peacefully Friday, March 6, 2020 at his home under hospice care surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.    Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be 10:30 a.

Glenn Andrew Etscheidt, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Gardens in Cedar Rapids.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at St. John Catholic Church in Blairstown with Rev. Craig Steimel as celebrant.  Private family interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstyown.

Harold F. Michael

Harold F. Michael Sr, 88, of Independence, IA formally of rural Urbana, IA, died on Tuesday March 3, 2020 at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, IA.Harold was born on September 14, 1931 in rural Urbana, IA the son of Peter and Elizabeth (Reuter) Michael. He attended the country schools in rural Urbana and later Urbana High School. He enlisted into the United States Army on October 3, 1952 and served proudly until his discharge in 1954.

Linda Ann Bevins

Linda Ann Bevins, age 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at her home in Vinton.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stu & Barb Dye

We all wondered how Stu would do without Barb, his wife, of 58 years. Barb had been in hospice care at their son, Scott & Bernadette Dye’s home since January 1, 2020. I guess God wondered too and thought it better that they go together. Stu passed away unexpectedly on February 27 and Barb passed away on March 1, 2020 after a lengthy battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Clay Marvin Ash

Clay Marvin Ash, 98, of Vinton, Iowa, formerly of Colesburg and Edgewood, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the Vinton Lutheran Home in Vinton. He was born on November 27, 1921, in Wood Center, the son of Clifford and Pearl (Whitehead) Ash. He graduated from Edgewood High School and attended the University of Dubuque. On March 16, 1942, Clay was united in marriage to Wanda Mae Rhines in Lancaster, Missouri.

James Parris

James Parris, 92, entered his heavenly home on February 29, 2020, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating. Interment with graveside military rites conducted by Adolph H. Schueler American Legion Post #217 of Atkins and Navy military funeral honors will be held at St.
