The Vinton Community Foundation is announcing the distribution of $27,367.60 in grants to the following organizations serving the City of Vinton. Local Option Sales Tax Fund & Vinton Community Foundation - $22,335.

The local VFW sponsors the Red Cedar Shooters Trap Team and have an ongoing relationship with the team.   The team asked the local VFW Post 8884 if they would help get a flag pole and flag on the grounds of Izaak Walton in Vinton.

May 21, 2022, two male juveniles were taken into custody by Vinton Police Officers on several charges after an investigation of several fires that was set in the early hours of May 14th.
