Farmers Savings Bank & Trust continues Christmas Tradition
Farmers Savings Bank & Trust held their Annual Christmas Open House earlier this month. With their tree decked out with tags supporting the local Angel Tree program sponsoring area children and Santa making a visit as well as homemade treats for guests, the bank continued to give. For each guest who signed up at the bank, the bank donated $3 to the church of their choice.
Kiwanis and Santa treat area children to pizza and gifts
The Vinton Kiwanis outdid themselves again this year! As part of their annual tradition, they invited children from the school district to enjoy lunch at the Vinton Pizza Ranch...right before Santa stopped by!Santa visited and brought gifts to all of the children with the help of the elves at the North Pole and some of the local elves. Middle school and high school members started by working together to package up meals that they were able to hand out to the farmers. The World Food Prize was founded by Norman Borloug in 1986 to honor individuals who have contributed to improving the availability and quality of food worldwide. In order for Brody to advance to the Global Youth Institute he had to submit an essay about food insecurities in another country. Koop's continues annual tradition collecting Toys for Area Children

It has been reported that another Angel Tree visit has been made decorating area trees at Farmers Savings Bank & Trust, US Bank and Cedar Valley Bank & Trust with needed items for Benton County children. Every Christmas, Santa recruits area volunteers to help with the gift preparations for children in Benton County. With only a week or so left before Angel Tree calls the families of these children, several gifts are still needed.
