On Saturday October 22, the Red Cedar Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America will hold its 7th Annual fund raising banquet at the Vinton Country Club.

     The Vinton Fireman’s Association will host their annual Fire Prevention Week Pancake Breakfast on Sunday October 16, 2011 at the Vinton Fire Station.

  LARSON CONTRUCTION TO HOST FUNDRAISER FOR GIBBS FAMILY AT NATIONAL CATTLE CONGRESS IN WATERLOO, IOWA Rock Legend Bret Michaels to support the Effort with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” traveled to West Union, Iowa, to surprise the Audrey Gibbs and her six children with a door knock that changed their lives.

Every Fall the leaves turn, and the nights get cooler.  Another sign that Fall is upon us is the annual Knights of Columbus Intellectually Disabled Fundraiser.

Last Year, we provided area children with “safety glow” items so they would be more visible when out trick-or treating.  We will be doing this again on Halloween beginning at 4pm and going until 6pm.

   PEO Chapters MZ and HG will meet jointly Monday, Oct. 10th         at 6:30 p.m. at the Country Club.
