“Out on a Limb” With the Parks & Recreation Department It is hard to believe that not only are we gearing up for Thanksgiving events and programs but we are talking about programs that start in December.

Official Trick or Treating hours

Monday from 5-7pm there will be ghosts and goblins roaming the streets of Vinton.  Be sure to make a safety stop at Windsor Manor first to help make all of the little spooks visible to vehicles.

VPRD: Calling all resident Monsters and Ghouls!

  Some of the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department’s facilities will be undergoing some haunting changes in the next week in celebration of Halloween and needs your help! Friday night on October 28th, the Hesson Shelter at Riverside Park will become the Haunted Shelter for one night only from 6:30 to 9 PM.

Trick or Treating Safety Stop

  Last Year, we provided area children with “safety glow” items so they would be more visible when out trick-or treating.

Breast Cancer Survivors Group to meet Nov. 1 in Vinton

Breast Cancer Survivors Group is meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1 at Windsor Manor in the dining room.  Alexa Schirm will be speaking on nutrition and its relationship to cancer.

Wrestling Labor Auction October 27th

2nd Annual Vinton-Shellsburg Wrestling Labor Auction Thursday, October 27 at 6:30 in the VS high school gym. Auctioneer: Duane Johnson   Hope to see you all there!   We raised about $10,000 last year which went towards 16 wrestlers going to camp over the summer, new bags and jackets for the wrestlers and a new hoist for the high school gym.
