The West Division dominated in the first five places with only Western Dubuque finishing higher. The team scores were very close. It was a challenging course; the front nine is an older layout with mature trees and tricky greens. The back nine is more wide open, but much longer. It takes skill to be successful on this course. We were grateful to have the opportunity to practice there on Sunday. The girls’ team record now stands at 39 – 5.

The top 25 individuals receive medals. The first 7 are All Conference 1st Team; the second 7 are All-Conference 2nd Team and the next 11 are Honorable Mention All Conference. All three seniors from V-Shellsburg earned All Conference medals. Natalie Ketchen shot 96 (9th place overall) and was named to the Second Team. Erin Randall shot 100 and was Honorable Mention in 15th place. Cara Hach shot 103 and was 19th and also received All Conference Honorable Mention. For the third time this season, Mara Jessen was one stroke from receiving a medal.

Our team played consistently and well. I’m proud of their efforts and pleased that our three seniors were recognized by earning All Conference honors. Cara Hach had 14 putts on the front nine for low.

Natalie Ketchen 45-51 96

Erin Randall 52-48 100

Cara Hach 52-51 103

Mara Jessen 54-52 106

Noncounters: Lauren Tandy, Kaiti Kilpatrick (For the second time this season, Lauren’s score meant the difference in the tie breaker!)

Tuesday varsity and JV travel to Jesup for a make-up meet with Jesup and Don Bosco.
