The Vinton-Shellburg boys golf team hosted the WAMAC Super Meet at the Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg on Tuesday.
The Vikings, led by Tyler Stueck's 77, finished in eighth place. Stueck was tied for 24th place and earned Honorable Mention.

Coach's Report:
The weather was beautiful for the 16 teams who came to compete at Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg Monday. The course was in pretty good condition considering all the rain it took leading up to the super-meet. The par is 70 and the competitor played from the blue tee box.
The conference medals the first 25 competitors. The 1st place medalist was Brock Morris from West Delaware carding a 66. He led West Delaware to the team title shooting 286. Columbus Catholic was 2nd shooting 296. 3rd place went to Mount Vernon with 304. 4th place was Western Dubuque shooting 310. 5th place was Central DeWitt shooting 313. 6th place was Dyersville Beckman shooting 315. 7th place was Williamsburg shooting 316. Vinton-Shellsburg placed 8th shooting 319. Maquoketa was 9th shooting 319. Anamosa was 10th shooting 325. 11th place went to solon with 325. Independence was 12th shooting 326. 13th place was Benton Community shooting 334. 14th place went to Marion shooting 336. 15th place went to Clear Creek-Amana with 366, and 16th place was Center Point-Urbana with 376.
Tyler Stueck placed 24th leading the Vikings shooting 77. Daniel Janssen shot 78. Dylan Rippel had a good round and carded 80. Daniel Ervin and Grant Noren both shot 84, which proved key in the breaking of the tie for the team scores. Bryce Shaw shot 89. The Vikings set goals for the team entering the tournament as well as individual score goals. We reached the goal being in the top half and the boys improved the team score totals the last two meets.
The team from the JV to Varsity has improved and has given the team momentum as we get set to play sectionals on Friday.
