The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikettes begin their Regional action this week with a bye and a 28-12 record.

The girls defeated Benton, 2-0 and 7-1 on Monday, which was also Senior night.

Senior Lindsey Noren pitched the Vikettes to victory in the opener, holding the Bobcats scoreless. It was Noren's 15th win of the season

The Vikette bats made the difference in Game 2. Junior Maddie Cornwell held the Bobcats to just one run in her 13th win of the season.

V-S has a bye in the first round of Class 4A Regionals. The Vikettes will host either Grinnell or Newton at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 7. See the Class 4 Region 6 pairing and bracket HERE.
