At the State Hershey Track Meet in Marshalltown, the Vinton-Shellsburg 11-12 year old girls took home 2nd place in the 4x100 relay race. They led their heat with their personal best time of 1:01.96. The winners of the second heat were the only ones to beat them with a time of 1:00.92.

Members of the 4x100 team were Sara Schminke, Taylor Spies, Libbie Timmerman and Olivia Coder.
