The winner of the Hogan Memorial can more than double their money with a long run at the front of the IMCA Modified feature field this Sunday, July 8 at Benton County Speedway.
The headline event pays a minimum of $1,250 to win and another $50 for each of the 40 laps led, plus $250 to the leader at midway.
That makes for a potential payoff of $3,500. The winner will be added to the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals in September.
The Ron-Da-Voo Lounge will give a $250 hard charger award. Feature qualifiers will be entered in a drawing for a barrel of fuel from Fauser Oil. Other sponsors for the Modified feature include Seegy’s, Thiesen’s, IMCA Racing, Chuck and Genny Flatberg, Keith and Sue Pittman, and Scott Pippert Trucking.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show.
A mandatory caution will be thrown for a five-minute break midway through the feature, with all cars stopping on the front stretch.
Two former race winners and the top two drivers in local track points who do not qualify will receive provisional starts.
IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will vie for all applicable IMCA points.
There is no entry fee for any class.
Gates at Vinton open at 4:30 p.m., with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing to follow.
Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids 6-13, with five and under admitted free. Pit passes are $25.
