Here is the summary from coach Janet Woodhouse:

Saturday, May 14 South Tama Invitational: 7 teams Weather: cold, windy, rain Coaches voted to cut the 18 hole tourney to nine holes due to weather. Team Scores; Grinnell 182 Newton 185 So. Tama 188 Nevada 191 V-S 202 No. Tama 256 Benton (only 3 participants so no team score) Medalist: Emily Elliott Grinnell 40 Runners-up: Paige VanDyk So. Tama 41 Nicole George Newton 41 V-S Scores: Mara Jessen 47 Erin Randall 50 Hannah Looney 52 Cara Hach 53 noncounter: Natalie Ketchen I was pleased with the girls' rounds with less than desirable weather conditions; they were soaking wet before 9 holes were finished. Freshman Mara Jessen shot a season's best round of 47 and tied for an 8th place medal. Mara birdied the par three #3! She also had low putts with 15. Mara has been a varsity member all season and has consistently scored well. Hannah Looney had 16 putts which is her lowest for the season. We were missing Kelsey Mahood who was ill, but we had four solid scores despite the weather. Districts @ Waverly Monday with a 10:00 start at Waverly Golf Course. Two of 8 teams advance to Regionals the following Monday @ Hampton. Results
