We are a young team with no seniors, and we are getting a lot of early season experience. We have nine new team members. Beginning golfers find this game to be challenging with a lot of inconsistency. We will continue to work on all aspects, and our team will improve as the season progresses. It can never happen as quickly as our young ladies would like, but it is a process. We are grateful for the assistance of pro, Pat Zedrick.
The trees on 3 Elms gave us lots of challenges. Their greens also gave us difficulty to adjust to them. However, there were positives. Low putts last night went to Abbye Hendryx with 16. Christina Harrelson had a birdie on the par four number 5 hole. Freshman Aly Smith played varsity and was a contributor to our team score for the first time.
We are scheduled to host Benton in a dual at Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg Thursday, April 13. This meet may be moved to Tuesday, April 16 due to weather concerns.
