VS had a good showing for our first spring competition. Nine of our team played in their first ever meet. We had a lot of individual holes that we played well; we will work to be more consistent. All of the young ladies have shown improvement since we started practicing less than one month ago. Our four varsity counters had consistent putting scores; Lauren Murray had low putts with 17. Zena

Aragon had 19. It was a full course with 36 participants.

CPU shot well to hit below 200 in these weather conditions. (Their coach, Laura Wilberg Dierks played four years for me at VS... and went to State three of those years!) Ms Dierks is doing some great coaching and we congratulate her and her team.

Next up is an 18 hole invitational hosted by Benton Community at Tara Hills. Monday V-S varsity and JV travel to Independence for a dual at Three Elms golf course. Next Thursday VS girls will host Benton Community at Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg.
