Gunner Tranel with his parents and grandpa, Duane Johnson, set a career high with 15 tackles.
Former Vinton-Shellsburg Viking Gunner Tranel sacked the University of Wisconsin-Stout quarterback, broke up a pass, and made a career-high 15 total tackles in Wartburg's 45-14 win on Sept. 20.
After a bye week, Tranel, a junior linebacker, and the Knights travel to Pella to play Central College; next Saturday, they travel to Cedar Rapids to play Coe College.
Mullinex scores 4 PAT kicks for Iowa Wesleyan
The Iowa Wesleyan College Tigers, with two former Vikings on the roster, won their Homecoming game on Sept. 27, defeating MacMurray College, 40-34.
Sophomore Marshall Mullinex converted four of five point after touchdown kicks for the Tigers.
Senior Troy Hallberg is a starting offensive linemen for IWC.
This week, IWC travels to St. Bonifacius, Minn. to play Crown College.
