The Union Knight defense opened up with fumble recovery by senior Justin Carey on the first series of the game at La Porte City on Friday night and the offensive scored quickly when Tate Hadachek (sr) turned a short pass from John Boisen (soph) into a touchdown. Hadachek would go on to score on the very first play of the next drive with a pass from senior Brady Driscol.

The Knight defense played solid all night long while causing five fumbles and recovering two overall. Senior Jace Hadachek led all tacklers with 10 including one for loss. Driscol had seven tackles and senior Wes Kaufman each contributed six. Five players had five tackles each.

Offensively the rush game was opened up behind the line play of Carter Hennessy, Dakota Hopper, Daycen Douglass, Tate Renaud, and Alex Barz with sophomore Isaiah Vaughan scoring three TDs and 146 yards rushing in 14 carries. Noah Garwood (sr) also had 39 yards rushing and one TD. Senior John McQuilkin had a score late in the fourth quarter as there was a running clock early in the third quarter.

Boisen was 6 of 6 for 63 yards, while Drisol was 1 of 1 for 63. Tate Hadachek led all receivers with three receptions for 89 yards and two TDs. Senior Dylan Bear had three receptions for 26 yards and Justin Carey had one reception for 11 yards.


The Knights move to (4-1) overall and play at Parkersburg this Friday versus AP who is currently also (4-1).
