Rapid Recap: Knights end Marion's Playoff Dreams with 45-14 Blowout

The Union Knights ran past the traditional powerhouse of the Marion Indians tonight by a final score of 45-14. Momentum was largely in favor of the Knights as the Indians muffed the opening kickoff and started inside their own 5-yard line. Following a three-and-out by the Indians, Knights kicker Brady Petersen nailed a 41-yard field to give the Knights a 3-0 lead, a lead they would not let go of for the entire night.

Football playoff picture: Union in; CPU, Benton can advance with win next week

     With one week left in the Class 3A District 5 schedule, three of the top four teams that will advance to the post-season have already been determined.      Maquoketa, at 6-0 in District 5 action, is the District champion. Two teams are 4-2 in district play and will also advance to the playoffs: Union and Western Dubuque.
