I am curious where all of the people that are so strongly against Gay marriage stand on the idea of prayer in school, separation of Church & State, gun control and Government violation of our Civil Liberties?

It is human nature for us to have opinions, whether we admit them or not, more than likely, there are not too many topics that human beings do NOT have opinions on. Sometimes, we even have the audacity to have opinions on topics/issues that we know nothing about or do not concern us. We can't help it, we're only human. I totally understand that about us. What I cannot understand, no matter how hard I try....is how/why some people think that their OPINION should become our law. Why does who someone down the block, or across the street LOVE, matter so much to these people that they feel it is their right to decide who can and cannot be married? Why does it have to become a matter of law, or in this reference, against the law? Why should anyone, anywhere be able to tell another person what is right in matters of their heart? Many point to the Bible as the means of their "authority" to decide for others who can be married....Where is their section in the Bible that refers to judgment? And Kindness, and humility, these are also found in the Scriptures. Turn on your televisions, pick up the papers, there is poverty, violence, crime and hatred throughout our entire planet, do we really need to single out something as good as love - of the heart, to make a "stand" on? Is that the best we can do? Do I have an "opinion" on Gay Marriage, yes, I do. Do I have an "opinion" regarding those that try to control it, you bet I do. If my family or friends have been SO lucky in this world to find someone that makes them happy and complete, and WHOLE, then all I can be is happy for them...what a shame to be anything else

MB February 4, 2011, 6:33 pm Tami, Thanks for the letter. You stated what so many of us feel. The legislature needs to hear this and listen. Stop counting your donations, representatives, and start listening.
LY February 4, 2011, 8:38 pm Thanks Tami for sharing your feelings. I am almost 100% sure there are so many people with the same feelings. You said it all! Thanks..
JS February 6, 2011, 2:40 pm Society has always placed rules or limits upon its citizens. Without rules there would anarchy. Laws/rules place limits on human behavior. It is up to society to decide/debate. That is exactly what we as a people are doing.
SM February 14, 2011, 2:44 pm It was Adam and Eve......not Adam and Steve! Enough said..?
