Robert (Bob) Charles Waterman

Robert (Bob) Charles Waterman, age 82, of Wheaton, IL, formerly of Atkins, quietly went to see our Lord Jesus on November 25, 2023.Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM, on Monday, July 8, 2024 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins.  A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM also at the church, with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.

Thomas “Tom” O. Wilson

Thomas “Tom” O. Wilson, 92, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab, Vinton.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at St. Ludmilla Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids.  Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 a.m. until time of service, at the church on Tuesday.

William (Bill) Glenn Ortmayer

William (Bill) Glenn Ortmayer, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died on June 29, 2024. He had a peaceful transition while at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, with his 4 daughters at his side. Eugene A. Severson

Eugene “Gene” A. Severson, 97, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away June 11, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.Gene was born July 7, 1926 to Harvey and Alice (Hegland) Severson in Kanawha, IA.  He graduated in 1944 from Kanawha High School.  He loved and excelled in baseball, enjoying playing on many local teams over the years. After graduation Gene served his country in the US Army Air Corp during WWII, until 1946.

Brett Thomas Stauffer

Brett Thomas Stauffer, 27, of Davenport, IA passed away, June 22, 2024.Brett was born October 8, 1996 to David A. and Monica L. (Harken) Stauffer in Ida Grove, IA. Moving to Belle Plaine with his family, Brett graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 2015. Continuing his education in the Diesel Tech Program at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa.

Daniel E. “Dan” Lee

Daniel E. “Dan” Lee, 65, of Bethany, MO passed away Friday, June 21, 2024 surrounded by family in Kansas City, MO.     Dan was born in Manchester, Iowa on September 3rd, 1958 to Daniel Edwin and June Ilene (Jones) Lee.      He married his high school sweetheart, Carol (Werning), in 1977 in Vinton, Iowa.

Jackie Lee Kimm

Jackie Lee Kimm was born on November 15, 1935 in Blairstown, Iowa and died in Frostburg, Maryland on June 25, 2024.He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, San Diego in 1953 and was honorably discharged July 2, 1956. He was honored for being a member of The American Legion for 60 years. He was an Auto Body Mechanic for 50 years.Jack is survived by his second wife Katherine Kimm, stepdaughter Sheila K.

Perry Kyle Hummel

Perry Kyle Hummel (88), a life-long Vinton resident passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024.Kyle was born to Perry Joseph and Mary (Paisley) Hummel in Woodbury County, Iowa on July 23, 1935, as the seventh child of nine. With a twinkle in his eye, he would say: “You know… I AM the son of Joseph and Mary…” His humor and his relationship with the Church and Jesus were things he liberally shared with his family throughout his life.
