Gregory R. Schaefers, 90, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point, Iowa. Charlene Pickart, 88, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.Visitation will be from 2 to 5:00 PM, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Keystone Turner Hall beginning at 4:00 PM on Monday, refreshments will be served. Family Committal Services will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Gordon Lavern Behrens, 91, of Vinton, Iowa, formerly of Mount Vernon, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Private family services will be held.Gordon was born on October 3, 1932, in Crescent City, Illinois, the son of Ben & Lillian (Kogler) Behrens. Russell Faye Alpers, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Windsor Manor in Vinton. Private family graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.Russell was born on June 28, 1938 in Vinton, the son of Henry and Mabel (McItyre) Alpers. Loren Walter Pippert, 81, of Elberon, IA passed away July 1, 2024 at his home.Loren was born September 8, 1942 to Walter and Cinderella (Sell) Pippert in Waterloo, IA. Growing up in Dysart he attended Dysart Community School. Loren served his country with the U.S. Army in Germany for four years. Eugene “Gene” A. Severson, 97, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away June 11, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.Gene was born July 7, 1926 to Harvey and Alice (Hegland) Severson in Kanawha, IA. He graduated in 1944 from Kanawha High School. He loved and excelled in baseball, enjoying playing on many local teams over the years. After graduation Gene served his country in the US Army Air Corp during WWII, until 1946.
