Joseph “Joe” Lee Meyne

On August 3, 2024, Joseph “Joe” Lee Meyne left his family to be with his Lord and Savior. He passed at Harmony House in Waterloo, of a sudden illness. A private burial and military service will take place at Artesian Cemetery at a later date. Military honors will be rendered.Joseph was born on September 22, 1963, in Waverly, IA to Harold and Estafana (Lujan) Meyne.

Doug Dunkel

Doug Dunkel, 73, passed away unexpectedly at his residence, Monday, August 5, 2024. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2024, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, with Pastor David Condry officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 11 at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service.

Avis E. Ingersoll

Avis E. Ingersoll, 79, a resident of Stoney Point Meadows in Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday August 4, 2024, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton, with Rev. Adam Baumann officiating.  Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.

Patricia “Pat” Ann Wright

Patricia “Pat” Ann Wright, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.

Sandra Ellen Rawson

Sandra Ellen Rawson, 79, of Vinton, Iowa was called to rest on Monday, July 29, 2024 at her home surrounded by family after a long illness.A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at a later date.Sandy was born on August 2, 1944 in Cedar Rapids to Holland and Doris (Milroy) Grimm. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1962 and married the love of her life, Terry Rawson on October 22, 1966.

Wayne "Butch" Edwin Kuhnle

Wayne "Butch" Edwin Kuhnle was born May 22, 1940, in Marengo, Iowa, the twin son of Edwin H. and Selma C. Conrad Kuhnle. He attended Ladora Schools. On May 4, 1963, he wed Karen Sue Campbell at St. James Lutheran Church in Victor, Iowa. They were blessed with two daughters, Connie and Kristin.Wayne joined the U.S. Army in 1963, based out of Ft.

Rosemary "Rosie" (Flickinger) Boisen

Rosemary “Rosie” Jean (Flickinger) Boisen, 79, passed away on July 31, 2024 at Virginia Gay Hospital following a lengthy illness.  Visitation will be from 2-6 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2024, followed by a brief memorial service at Phillips Funeral Home (212 E 6th St.) in Vinton. A private family interment will take place at a late date.

Edward J. Pickart

Edward J. Pickart, 95, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 29, 2024. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 3, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton.Ed was born March 27, 1929, in Parkston, SD, the son of Anton and Lena (Bigge) Pickart. They moved to a farm near Norway when Ed was a small child. He attended school in Norway and started farming with his father at a young age.

Eleanor Maye Elliott

Eleanor Maye Elliott was born on April 30, 1936, in Garrison, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Alice (Nichols) Gonnerman. She graduated from Dysart High School. Eleanor married Eugene Elliott on August 7, 1955, at EUB Church in Dysart; he preceded her in death March 9, 1999. She worked at the Yarn Tree, sold Avon, and was employed at Sunnycrest Nursing Home, all in Dysart, for many years.

Brett Theodore Solberg

Brett Theodore Solberg, aged 66, of Vinton, Iowa, was called to his rest on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. A visitation will be held at 12:00 (noon) on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Tom Schaeffer officiating.   Interment will be held at the Rowley Cemetery.
