Nancy P. Grace

Nancy P. Grace, 80, of rural Shellsburg, Iowa, died on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. She was born on July 14, 1940, in Shenandoah, Iowa, to Charles E. Belgarde and Virginia Stong Belgarde.  Nancy attended grades first to 12th in the Independence, Iowa, school system, graduating in 1958. She graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, in 1962.

Stanley Uthoff

Stanley Uthoff, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at West Ridge Residential Care Center in Cedar Rapids.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E 6th Street) in Vinton with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating.  Interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery with graveside military rites.

Donald Donley

Donald Donley, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Rock Ridge Care Center in Shellsburg. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E 6th Street) in Vinton with Rev. Tim Deevries officiating.  Interment will be held at Urbana Memorial Cemetery.

Minnie Bell Risner

Minnie Bell Risner, 100, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away peacefully at the Keystone Care Center on December 5, 2020.Minnie was born September 24, 1920 near Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to Fredrick and Cyntitha (Jewell) Phillips. She was united in marriage to Henry Columbus Risner Jr. on February 3, 1938 in Fulton County, Arkansas at the home of her grandfather, Harvey Phillips, Justice of the Peace.

Louise Darlene Dvorak

Louise Darlene Dvorak, 84, of Montezuma, formerly of Elberon, IA passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at Care Initiatives Center, Montezuma.Louise was born at home February 16, 1936 in Elberon to Frank Jr. and Bessie (Banes) Dvorak. She attended school in Keystone, IA. Following the death of her parents Louise moved to Clear Lake Opportunity Village in March, 1976.

RACHEL L. BARNES

Rachel L. Barnes, 38, of Keystone, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.Survivors include her two sons, Gauge Horak and Ryker Barnes, both at home; her mother, Jayna Barnes of Cedar Rapids; her father, James Barnes of Parker, Ariz.; brother, Jay Blank; and a sister, Natalie Blank, both of Cedar Rapids.

Rosemary Allen Meadows

Rosemary Allen Meadows, 69, died Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Virginia Gay Hospital following a brief illness.  Private graveside services were held Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Maplewood Cemetery in Vinton.     Rosemary was born at Fort Knox, KY on March 5, 1951 to Charles E. and Mary L. (Tidwell) Meadows. During the 1970’s she worked for the James Black Company and the Hong Kong Café in Waterloo.

Barbara Elsie (Wolf) Phelps

Barbara Elsie (Wolf) Phelps, age 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton with her family by her side.Private family graveside services will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery, rural Vinton.Barbara was born on August 14, 1945, the daughter of Vertus and Anna Belle (Nessler) Wolf.  She graduated from Garrison High School.

Marilyn Rhoads

Marilyn Rhoads, 93, of Granger, IN, formerly of Keystone, passed peacefully of natural causes, November 25, 2020, while residing at The Hearth @ Juday Creek, Granger, Indiana. She was born August 21, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Roy and Hazel Appleton. She was united in marriage November 12, 1946, to Lloyd (Dusty) Rhoads. Surviving are her three children: Diana (Richard) Peck, MI; Michael Rhoads, PA; and Deb (Joel) Vogeler, IA; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
