Edward Paul Nielsen, 102,  passed away  peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the Vinton Lutheran Home with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 30, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church in Center Point, with Rev. Thomas C. Van Hemert officiating.  Interment with military rites will be held at the Walker Cemetery.

Patricia E. (Coberly) Hinds, 76, passed away at the UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.A visitation will be held from 4 to6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. Patrick Hugh Shaw, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids.Pat was born January 14, 1955, in Creston, Iowa, the son of Marion and Dolores (Fish) Shaw.

Luetta Mae (Steckel) Sedlacek, born Aug. 23, 1928, widow of David (1929-1994), passed gently into God’s loving arms on Sept. 16, 2022. Janet Ann Wheeler, 71, of Keystone, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at her family farm in Watkins.Jan was born on April 25, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Joyce (Deklotz) Wheeler.  She was the second oldest of nine children.After graduating from Benton Community in 1969, she received her Bachelor’s Degree from Mt.

Donald John Welch, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Heritage Specialty Care following a short illness. Graveside Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Cemetery by Pastor Mark Thomas.Donald is survived by his sons, Allen (Kay) Welch of Shellsburg and Rev. David (Becky) Harwood of Midland, TX; 2 grandsons, Nathan (Corley) Welch and John (Cassidy) Welch.

David R. Ward, 91 of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Keystone Care Center in Keystone. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home. Private family burial.David is survived by his wife of 64 years Sharon; children Richard Lueders of Cedar Rapids, Jon (Diana) Ward of Elberon, Julie Ryan of Ankeny, Marcie Sawyer of Missouri, Tracy Montgomery of Belle Plaine and James (Laurie) Ward of Texas; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

James Owen Fuller, 85 of Brandon passed away September 16, 2022 at Virginia Gay Annex in Vinton with complications from a motor vehicle accident. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton, with Rev. Brian Channel officiating.  Interment with military rites will be held at Cedar Crest Cemetery on Carter Avenue, East of Jesup at 1:30 PM Wednesday.

Dolores Irene Nedrow, 81, of Independence, Iowa died Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Dolores was born on February 7, 1941, in Vinton, Iowa the daughter of Loren and Mary (Gust) Rammelsberg. She graduated with the class of 1959 from the Brandon High School, Brandon, Iowa. On April 2, 1960, she was united into marriage to Ralph Nedrow in Vinton, Iowa.

John Deklotz, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, following a sudden illness. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton, with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday.
