Due to being in the midst of the Novel CoranaVirus Pandemic North Benton Ambulance is asking the public to provide certain information to our county 911/dispatch center when calling for emergencies.
The dispatch communication specialists will be asking callers if they have a fever, cough, or respiratory illnesses with the person concerned. They will ask about travel outside of the USA. We ask that if you have to call 911 you cooperate with the communications specialist and provide this information so we can better protect anyone responding to the situation.
Although our crews are taking extra precautions and wearing masks, eye protection, gloves and gowns we want to limit unnecessary exposures. If our crew members become exposed to an infectious person they run the risk of becoming quarantined. As crew members are quarantined this will greatly impact the service we can provide.
We appreciate your understanding and help through this. Everyone, please stay safe and healthy.
