On March 11th, 2016 the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter had the opportunity to meet National FFA Officer, Abrah Meyer, and Iowa State FFA Officer, Kayla Kaalberg. The chapter organized an activity filled night at the Henkle House when they got news that Abrah Meyer would be able to visit the chapter.
It was a spectacular night! It started off with two activities that Abrah Meyer introduced to the group; one was an introduction activity so that we could get to know each other a little bit better, and the other activity was a fun game that slowly eliminated people who didn’t follow the instructions or didn’t have a group that allowed them to follow the instructions. After the two activities, the chapter had tacos and desserts and continued the fun with a large game of nine-square and then a game of “guess the movie.”
It was a really fun night, filled with laughter and non-stop talk from the members. It was a great opportunity to really get to know the officers and for the officers to get involved with the chapter and it’s members. The Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter is truly lucky to be able to have opportunities like this that will help each member grow!
