Along with the student-athletes who compete on the football field, many other people help make a football game a success.
Last Friday in Vinton, the Junior Cheerleaders joined the high school football cheerleaders before the varsity game. The youngsters learned some cheers and dances from the cheerleaders, and presented them to the audience. Junior Cheerleaders is a joint effort by the Vinton Parks and Recreation Dept. and VSHS.
The American Legion color guard also participated, carrying the U.S. and Legion flags onto the field while the band played The National Anthem.
