Vinton Woman Charged with Theft

An area Vinton woman has been accused of stealing more than $20,000 while she worked at the Nordstrom center in Cedar Rapids.The 48-year-old Rhonda Kies has been charged with theft and the preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 15th.

Shellburg house damaged by fire being torn down

The Shellsburg house damaged by fire back in August, is being torn down today. Area fire departments from Shellsburg, Urbana and Palo responded to the house fire in Shellsburg .

Bramow recognized for 45 years of service to Benton County

Benton County held its annual employee recognition/training day on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at the Vinton Skate Center in Vinton. Among those recognized was Ricky (Rick) Bramow, with 45 years of dedicated service to Benton County as the Maintenance Director for the courthouse and other county facilities.
