in one of the council meetings a few weeks ago, City Administrator Chris Ward mentioned how important it is for everyone to fill out their census form. While the online form says that the count of residents indicates how many representatives we will have in Congress, it sometimes also determines grants and matching funds that cities and counties can apply for.

Vinton Public Library offers TumbleBooks online, books and coloring pages
The Vinton Public Library is offering several books online now. "Our patrons are now able to access TumbleBooks through our website for free until the end of August," said Amy Noe who works with the children at the library. There are several options to entertain, add to the education of your children and resources for adults. Look to the lower right side of the page in the blue tabs.

Governor releases new website to update status of Coronavirus: Stay Home
In the Governor's statements made on Tuesday, she gave a bit of good news. Iowans really are listening. Traffic according to the IDOT is down by 50% however trucking has not slowed compared to a year ago! That means we are staying home, while supplies are still rolling in!There is a brand new website up to keep all the current information available to the public.
