Forum to be held Saturday in Dysart

Rep. Horbach, Senator Kapucian and I (Rep. Dawn Pettengill), will be at the Gathering Place in Dysart, Saturday the 18th, from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. for a legislative forum.

Tree of Lights Final Lighting Ceremony tonight

The Virginia Gay Hospital Tree of Lights Final Lighting Ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. tonight. Hospital Foundation Director Mike Timmermans will join VGH leaders and board and foundation members in celebrating the completion of this year's event.

  Due to a miscommunication with the Community Center in Belle Plaine, their meeting room is filled to the brim with Christmas trees and gifts, so we are unable to meet there.

  The Iowa Braille School’s 5th Year students are conducting a food drive.  Melissa Sadler, 5th Year Program Manager, noted to me that the 5th Year Students have collected a marginal amount of items (non-perishable foods, paper supplies and personal items).
