Events and Activities : VS Jazz Band learns time of State Championship performance

The Vinton-Shellsburg High School Jazz Band knew they were heading to compete for a Jazz Band Championship before this past weekend, they just didn’t know what time they would perform in Des Moines on April 13, 2010. The high school jazz band and Director Karl Smith topped off an outstanding competition season on Saturday with a resounding 1st place finish at the Charles City Festival. In addition to their 1st place finish, the V-S HS Jazz Band was named Overall Best Band of the Day.
