The International Mountain Bicycling Association’s (IMBA) Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew will be in Vinton on July 29th and 30th to talk trails, teach proper trail building technique and spend quality time digging in the dirt. This visit is one of about 40 stops on the 2016 nationwide tour and everyone is invited to attend the weekend’s events at no cost. The award-winning Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew program includes two full-time professional teams of trail experts who travel North America year-round, leading IMBA Trail Building Schools, meeting with government officials and land managers and working with IMBA-affiliated groups to improve local mountain biking opportunities. IMBA’s crews have led well over 1,000 trail projects in the US, North America and abroad since the program debuted in 1997.
The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department is currently in the proecess of developing 50 acres of timbered property within city limits at Riverside Park to establish a network of multi-use trail and singletrack. The Subaru/IMBA visit will focus on a particular segment that will integrate varied terrain coupled with flowing benchcut trail. Everybody that has an interest in seeing trails developed within Vinton are encouraged to take part in one or both of this weekend’s sessions. The following is a schedule of events that are open to the public and pre-registration is required.
