Events and Activities : Truth About Marijuana event set for Oct. 8, in Vinton

The Benton County Above the Influence Coalition presents "The Truth about Marijuana" featuring Dr. Christian Thurstone. The event takes place Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Tilford Elementary. Registration for this free event begins at 6:30 p.m.; the event at 7 p.m.

Dr. Thurstone is one of fewer than three dozen physicians in the United States who are board-certified in general, child and adolescent and addictions psychiatry. He is medical director of one of Colorado’s largest youth substance-abuse-treatment clinics and an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Colorado Denver, where he conducts research on youth substance use and addiction. When he’s not in the office, you stand a good chance of finding him on a tennis court — or at home, where he loves spending time with his wife, Christine Tatum, and their two children.
