Stars over 70 Nominations Sought

The Wallace Winkie Foundation announces nominations now being accepted for Stars Over 70, a celebration of those individuals in the Belle Plaine area who are at least 70 years of age and contributing to their communities through volunteering, working, or serving as role models.Nominations will be accepted through March 17 and can be made by anyone in the Belle Plaine area who would like to say thank you to mentors, volunteers, and people who’ve made their communities better places to live.

The Great Bake Sale and More

Celebrate the coming of spring at the Great Bake Sale and More on March 21 in Belle Plaine, 9 – 12 a.m., at the Community Center. You’ll find fabulous baked treats like cookies, fudge, brownies, bars, and more. You’ll even be able to get treats for your four-legged friends. You can check out the green table, with gently used home goods and electronics.

American Legion to hold Fish Fry

The American Legion, George G. Luckey Post 57 located at 105 North R Ave. will hold a Fish Fry Fundraiser on Friday, March 13, at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.The meal includes Fish Fillet, Baked Beans, Baked Potato or Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Milk, Coffee, Bread, Butter and Cake. All you can eat!Adults $9.00 Children Ages 5-12 $5.

Brandon Methodist Church will host a Community Supper on Saturday, March 14 beginning at 6:30 PM. Come on out for a free meal and free entertainment!

Garrison Lions Club to hold Soup Supper Saturday from 5-7

The Garrison Lions Club will be hosting its first-ever Soup Supper to raise money for the various projects throughout the year.The supper will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, from 5 PM – 7 PM at the Garrison Fire Department. The Fire Department is located at 205 S. Sycamore Ave. Garrison.There will be chili, chicken noodle, potato, and cheesy broccoli soup.
