Center Point Historical Society to hold Log Cabin Festival

On August 18, the Center Point Historical Society will hold the Log Cabin Festival, “Little House on the Parking Lot,” From 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at the Depot Museum/Strait Log Cabin. Laura Ingalls Wilder authority Sarah Uthoff will present a Little House book series-themed program for kids and adults.

Blessed Hope Community Church changes format on Sunday Mornings

Blessed Hope Community Church will be changing the format of their Sunday morning service. The church will now hold two identical services beginning on Sunday, August 25th. Service times will be 8:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Children's time will be held during both service times. Blessed Hope Community Church is located at 1509 South M Ave.

Waterball Fights Tonight, Downtown Vinton

Tonight area fire departments and their spouses will battle it out in downtown Vinton. They will meet on 4th St. in front of the courthouse. Registration for the fights begin at 6:00 p.m. with the men starting the waterball fights at 7:15 p.m. The competition will award 1st-4th place trophies to the winning teams.

Vinton Car Cruise this Saturday

The Vinton Car Cruise will be on Saturday, July 20. There will be classic cars, street rods, hot rods, muscle cars and antique cars. It is one of the largest in Iowa, and usually has between 3-400 participants each July.Registration is from 3-6:45 p.m. at the courthouse. The cruise begins at 7:00 p.m.
